THE 3CAST® PROCESS – AN EVOSTEEL DEVELOPMENT

The 3cast® process involves the precise control of pressure, temperature and mould filling speed.  It is based on the low-pressure casting principle which we have enhanced and automated for steel casting.

With cycle times of as little as 30 seconds, 3cast® offers our customers a precise and extremely economical manufacturing process for cast steel components.  Moreover, real-time pouring control and the use of cold-box core packages guarantee maximum precision.  The 3cast®unicase system allows for the flexible re-charging of our production line without the need to change tools.

It recognises automatically which component is to be manufactured and determines the production set-up.  As a result, different components can be manufactured in an ongoing process using the same batch of materials.

In the process, 3cast®unicase realises maximum mould sizes of 800 mm x 1000 mm x 380 mm with component weights of between 0.5 and 100 kg.  Depending on the component, it may also be possible to use a single mould more than once, thereby enabling a further increase in productivity.
